As this is my first ever blog post, I thought I would start with one of my favourite sketches and one of my favourite cult movies; The Crow starring Brandon Lee as Eric Draven. The movie oozed cult classic from the soundtrack, advertising, actors/actresses and the death of Brandon Lee, which still saddens me to this day. As this is in-progress, you can see my process and the final result will be at the end of the post.
Brandon Lee showed such depth of character and with his father's eyes was destined to be a legend. I have done a few sketches of Eric Draven (Brandon Lee) from The Crow but this one is one of my favourite sketches so far and have yet to frame it and put on my wall but it's on my to-do list.
The movie itself was about Eric Draven (Brandon Lee) who was brutally murdered along with his fiancée Shelly by a gang of thugs working for a gangland boss. The murder was so sad that a crow pecks on the grave of Eric Draven, which awakens his soul to reap a terrible vengeance on the gang and their boss. The movie was an instant cult classic but the three sequels sucked balls, so to speak.
