WEEKLY COMIC ROUND-UP

This is my second weekly comic round-up and this week it's some blank variant comics. Out of last week's round-up I decided to draw on the Hit-Girl blank variant comic cover as pictured below and can be read in a previous post.

Hit-Girl

The three blank comic variants this week are Deadpool 001 variant edition, The Walking Dead #115 and Secret Wars 001 variant editions. I have drawn on several #115 Walking Dead blank variants and the paper is superb quality as always, though I won't know about the other two until I've drawn on them.

Weekly Comic Round-Up

Deadpool's Secret Wars has an older style quality to it, with the artwork pure quality up until Marvels Super Hero Contest of Champions 'Bonus Round' which looked and read differently, which is a shame as it spoiled the feel of the comic for me. This is just my opinion and people reading this may not be under the same impression as I.

The Walking Dead #115 is as always high quality throughout and who could not be inspired by Charlie Adlard's high quality artwork or Robert Kirkman. The comic flows through and the only issues is the use of colour in five of the pages then the back page back to black and white. I agree the front cover should be colour and inside black and white as this is the way The walking Dead is enjoyed by so many.

Secret Wars was a total enjoy to read and as an artist was the most eye-catching of the three in this weeks blog. The whole thing was almost a privilege to read with no issues. This was surprise as I purchased this on a spur of the moment and can't wait to read #2.

All in all I will always purchase The Walking Dead as often as I can as I'm a fan of the comic and tv show and always enjoy drawing scenes from either comic or tv show and at some point will dedicate a post all to Charlie Adlard as he is one of my favourite artists. Secret Wars is a must and the only one I'm not to keen on was Deadpool Secret Wars unfortunatly I have purchased two of these blank variants but happy to draw Deadpool or Ryan Reynolds.
