This is my first art tips post, so I thought I would start with inking.
To begin with it is important to have an outline in place as a guide. Once an outline is done I would suggest using the brand Uni Pin fine-line markers by Mitsubishi Pencil as they're cheap and fantastic to use. They're also water and fade proof so your work will last.
I use their set of 5 which consist of sizes 0.1, 0.2, 0.3, 0.5 and 0.8. The 0.1 is the finest and I really suggest buying the 0.05 which is sold separately but is very important as it's an ultra fine tip, almost the size of a needle head.
It's important to have a variation in size of fine-liners as it will give your piece depth. Once you have your outline I really suggest getting your inked art printed onto a thick card at a printers if you're going to colour the piece in so you can experiment with colours etc.
Below is a small selection of artwork that I've done using the Uni Pin fine-line pens.
